I'm currently on IS and have a letter stating I don't need any medicals for my IS til my DLA runs out because I receive higher rate care but I know people are being switched over to ESA and if I'm switched will this letter still stand do you think or will it overwrite it and i'll need a medical? I don't even know why I'm worrying about this I might not be swapped over for ages yet I was just reading some other posts in this forum and got a panic on. thanks.

It depends.
ESA and IS on grounds of illness are not the same benefit.
While they are similar, someone who the DWP agree is, and would remain for the forseeable future eligible for IS may not be eligible for ESA at all.

http://www.dwp.gov.uk/docs/m-06-11.pdf are the descriptors (beginning on page 6) for ESA.

It's quite possible if they consider that you do meet the ESA criteria that you will not need a medical.

In addition, DLA is changing over to PIP, for all claimants from 2013-2016 (at least according to current plans, and some will lose their entitlement at that point.

(Of course, some who would not have been eligible for DLA or IS will be eligible for ESA and PIP)

OK I'm scared I have schizo-affective disorder I'm at the emergency dr's probably twice a month atm. My drs are really good here but I wanna move closer to parents for more support but then the dr there isn't so good
