Travel Insurance - hospital work experience in Tanzania

Hello
My Son will be going off to Tanzania at Easter for 2 weeks with gapmedics.co.uk for a 6th form special aimed at potential medical students. While there he will be shadowing doctors while they go about their normal work in the hospital.
Unfortunately, the cost of the trip which is already quite expensive does not cover the cost of travel insurance. We've been recommended to take out specialist cover with Endsleigh which covers him while working in the hospitals. In summary, in addition to the normal things you would expect to be covered for, he will also be covered for "exposure to biological fluids" and for "needle stick injury".
The cost of this policy is £95 for two weeks, which is significantly more than I can get a normal policy for by shopping around. Obviously I want him to have the right level of cover, but I don't want to pay over the odds for it. Before I stump up the cash, I thought it was worth asking here in case anyone knows of any other providers who offer similar types of cover and how much they might charge for the same.
Thanks.

What cover do you get for these risks?
Does it also cover extra liability given he will be "working" in a hospital? I know when I did my work experience in a hospital that this part was challenging to arrange but it was a long time ago and my school sorted it all out.
I also remember the Medical Defence Union does a fair amount of free and cut price things for students (obviously hoping you stay on when you qualify) so could be worth seeing if they have anything suitable or at least can recommend someone0
