Itunes account hacked what do I need to do?

Hi I had an email from iTunes showing a receipt for the purchase of an app for 2 lots of £13.99. I don't even have iTunes on my pc atm as the pc is too old. My account has been hacked and I don't know who to contact or what I need to do.

I doubt that my credit card details would have been on there as I was using a gift card.
The hacker has personal details though such as name address and phone number.

How on earth have they done it?
any advice please?

Is the email genuine? ie. where do the links direct to? I have had similar emails in the past, all of which were not genuine.

Hi. I didn't click the link. I signed in to iTune from google and found that £27.xx had been spent.
I have contacted iTunes and have received a reply to say that the money has been recredited to my account.

However, the email from iTunes states the following
It appears that your account information was modified without your authorization. This can happen for a number of reasons, most commonly due to "phishing" emails, sharing passwords, or using the same password for multiple online accounts.

I have done non of this. I haven't used the account since June 2011 because my pc broke and the substitute is too slow to use iTunes !

I don't understand how it has happened.
I have also removed the card from your account and have disallowed it from being used on the iTunes Store.

I'm pretty sure there was no card.... is this a standard letter. If not I have no idea which card it was?
    I'm in a bit of a panic

Sorry for the delay. Sounds like this is sorted now. Fir future reference you don't need to click the link, just hover over it and your browser will show where the link goes. (normally in bottom left corner depending if you are using Firefox, IE etc.)

A quick example, the link may say 'click here to got my account' or will be a link like https://www.ebay.co.uk but this could actually say anything, it is the source you want to know. Look at this link www.ebay.co.uk As you can see it is a link for ebay but directs to Amazon, if you hob=ver over it you will see in the corner of the screen that it points to Amazon.

yes if you haven't already, change your password, also log into your account and check how many computer you have Authorised, if that number does not match how many should be you will need to do a 'De-authorise All' and then Re-Authorise the computers that should be Authorised.

a quick google will show haw many apple IDs have been hacked even people with complicated passwords never fallen for a phishing email and don't use the password/email on any other site have been hacked, no-one knows how the hackers are hacking but iTunes refunding the money, you changing your password and you de-authorising any unknown computers is the best you can do.

Just been hacked too - £60 off a giftcard credit. Wish you could speak to a real human at CrApple - had to contact them via their website - Hope I get a refund....:(
