hi,after reading the advice on moneyexpert i decided to enquire at barclays about my previous charges,i asked them for a list of my transactions instead of a statement which you have to pay for ,and they said they dont do them and i would have to pay for my old statements is this correct?i went into my local branch and asked should i call them would it make a difference?and is it correct that i can only go back as far as 6 years as i had loads of charges previous to to 2006,please help im new to all of this and i dont know if they are trying to fob me off as when i asked about it in branch they didnt seem to be to much help, and they were adamant that id have to pay for statements to get the information ,surely they do a list of transactions thx

The bank is correct. They will charge you for duplicate statements and probably will not supply you a list of transactions over the counter (apart from very recent ones)
You need to ask for a SAR, but you will need to do so in writing. Read the MSE article on reclaiming bank charges, and together with the other MSE article I have mentioned you read in another thread, it will detail how you can get a SAR for a maximum of a tenner"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
