Penny put it a bit more concisely than meMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
and its a bit more serious than 25g and 7g its 25oz and 7oz, with gold being worth £340 per ounce that is over £6k difference (obviously depending on gold quality). And so what if the buyer planned to sell it on and make a proffit or was a jeweler and was going to melt it down and use it in something else. They bought it in expectation of a certain weight. I'd offer a refund.0

Ok, so I give the refund...my mistake...
Do I wait for the item to arrive back to me before refunding the money?
Thanks to all who have answered, while I may not like the fact I can't do anything, I appreciate your honesty!!0 -
pennylane99 wrote:I wouldnt say so, if you bought an item of gold, that you were told was 25g, and it was actually only 7g....I think you wouldnt be pleased either, when that type of items' value is placed on the weight of it
It all depends how much he paid for it really ,and i bet not enough profit margin in it for him to sell on and make anything!!!!...the seller has stated that there was no weight in the auction description and that she told the buyer that her kitchen scales were not accurate so i dont think the seller has done anything wrong here...the buyer has paid his money he takes his chance, its ebay after all and personally i wouldnt buy jewellery if i couldnt see it in the flesh 1st....Will this hammy hunt ever end ???
So far all 4 hamsters £40,3 beds £15,Skate board and u turn £22,House £25 total £97.00 ....still wanting wheel,car,slide,ball,surf board ....
HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERY ONE :rotfl:0 -

What do you think?0 -
Frankie, you shouldn't let this put you off selling. When you start out it's a pretty steep learning curve. And i would say it's great that on your first sale you have had a return request because it will teach you the process on your first go. I am sure you could list alot of things you have learnt just from this one auction. It could have been worse and you could have gone months without any disputes then sold something very expensive and had to deal with all this first time. Least now you understand a bit more about descriptions, returns, communicating with buyers, offering refunds etc etc.
Hope this doesn't sound silly, just trying to point out the good things that have come from it.
Chris...you'll always find whatever you are searching for in the last place you look...so keep going.0
