I'm not a jeweller, for goodness sake...I'm just trying to sell on stuff that I no longer need or use!

If you're saying that I have to accept the refund and suck it up, then I guess I have no choice, but it has certainly made me think hard about whether ebay is worth it!

when stating gold weight, you do need to be quite accurate with that as thats what determines the value, a few grams make a difference...

Can I offer it as a second chance offer and give them the coerrect weight of the item? Or do I have to relist it at a later date?

    !

You are better off putting no/little information than incorrect information, you can hardly blame eBay for you're own listing.

you could, I think you have 60 days to do a second chance offer...but you need the item back first...

I hadn't put a weight in the listing, in fact I had put little info in the listing.
It was answering a question, that seems to have been my undoing!!

Same rules apply, just say you don't know, if you are not certain of your facts, that way, no come backs.
  • it seems to me that the only reason the person wants a refund is because he thought he would be able to sell the item on at a profit,i would tell him to go jump personally.....

While I can see this point, I can see the point of the others too.
I guess I ( very) naively thought it would be bought by someone, who would just enjoy wearing the bracelet!!

Anyway, I thought the saying was 'buyer beware'...!

This is a bit of a harsh assumption.

If you were buying something that was 1/3 as heavy as you thought it was, and (for the sake of argument) 1/3 as valuable - would you be happy when you found out what you paid was for something cheaper than you thought?
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

I wouldnt say so, if you bought an item of gold, that you were told was 25g, and it was actually only 7g....I think you wouldnt be pleased either, when that type of items' value is placed on the weight of it
