Yes, ask for the tensioner to be replaced and for a new belt as it will be ruined if it has been slipping for a few weeks. However, if the alternator belt comes off your battery light should show, giving you time to pull over safely - if this is not happening get it fixed under warranty too.

Finally it's really annoying to keep spelling "the" wrongly... it sounds like you have an online speech impediment.

Call local council. They'll give a definitive answer.

The local council is Lambeth, if you breakdown and stay with the car and it's obvious you have broken down they will not normally issue a ticket.

As a previous poster mentioned, try giving them a call.

P.S I think you made the traffic news yesterday.

If you do get a ticket just appeal, there'll be a record of your breakdown callout. To cover yourself further, ask the fixing garage for a written dated record of the fault that existed, explain to them why you need it. Can't see you having much trouble.

Or they're "old school" and have been around online long enough to know why it's used and even where it came from..... And we are talking in excess of 15 years, the very people that came on the net (when most people didn't even know what it was) and started to make it what it is today.
Teh modern equivalent of an a ancient language if you will and we sure as hell don't pick on the Egyptians for their spelling or grammar.

Txt spk I cannot tolerate, in fact it makes me want to rip someone's head off. But internet speak, the old school stuff...... It's an integral part of what made the internet and internet n00bs should leave it the **** alone ;)

This stuff should be used, lest it be forgotten.
    Teh FTW (for teh win)

My God. You do come out with some rubbish sometimes.

Is there a similar story behind "apparnelty"?

No, I was merely educating you Neanderthals in the finer points of the internet before it became what you know as "the internet" :p

Now as I said, "txt spk" is a free for all, attack at will. Bad spelling/grammar though, this is hard to read and for all you know that person might have one of a thousand known learning difficulties..... But getting yampy over a misspelling, that might not actually have been a misspelling and might actually just be internet culture..... Seriously?

Now, thanks to your post, the tone of my previous post now comes into question.... It was never meant to be taken so seriously!!

Did you not read the bottom of post #3 where he makes it clear it was done by mistake?

Doh!... and having a degree in CS and using the internet since primary school myself, I know the origins of 'teh', but to bring it up in this thread is laughable.
