i want to leave talktalk as i am fed up of their cr*p customer service. im not in a contract and at the mo am on their talk plus package as other half needs unlimited downloads. this is costing £28.30 a month.
im lokking at switching broadband to o2 as we have mobile contracts with them and so would get the 6.25 a month deal.
i would then want to transfer to primus for my home phone and use an override provider for the calls i make.
my question is changing to 2 different providers (1 for phone, 1 for broadband) going to cause complications.
for example what would happen if my home phone switches over before my broadband or vice versa as my broadband comes free with my phone package on talk talk. could i end up having to pay for 2 providers in one go?
also how quickly do these companys normal transfer over?
would it be an idea for me to transfer the bradband first and once that is sorted them do the home phone? therefore i would be paying for te o2 broadband at the same time as paying for talk talk but then i wouldnt end up being without broadband at any point?

also forgot to ask does anyone know if these companies are good or does anyone have any better suggestions as to how to tranfer my services to.
thankyou in advance:j0 -
I suggest you do a forum search on Primus-lots of CS issues. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

oh ok thankyou macman will do that now. what about 02 are they ok? ive been hearing that switching from talktalk can be a problem depending on who you want to switch to?:j0

Ring O2 and ask them what deal they can offer you for both making sure they know you want to transfer from TalkTalk. You'll be unlikely to be able to use any 1xxx override providers on O2 LLU remember. A friend of mine has O2 BB and has sung the praises of their CS a few times.0

if price is more than a cs issue , call talktalk retentions and give them the option to keep you !!!0

thanks everyone, well i called o2 yesterday and got the guy to check my number and he said they can offer bb but it wouldnt be the deals i am seeing on the computer. he said i can only have the access package (which is not sufficient for our needs anyways) and it would cost me for a connection fee, id have to go back to a bt line etc. he siad all in all it would be about £30 a month just for the bb.
such a shame as he was so honest and was literally looking out for my best interestes rather than trying to push me into taking out bb. so back to the drawing board. anyone know who is best for bb with unlimited usage?
talk talk have told me that they can give me the package i am on (talktalk plus) for £21.somthing a month instead of the £28.30 i am paying at the mo. I will get a new wireless router and if I want to pay for the line rental for a year upfront itll be even cheaper again. i think he siad £14 something it would cost.
i want to save money and will stay with talk talk if no-where else can offer what i need but i would pay more to leave talktalk if it means going somewhere where the cs good.:j0 -
Do an exchange search on www.samknows.com for your LLU options.
There is no nationwide 'best', it depends what is available on your exchange. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi Roxy,
Just wanted to flag up the deal I got with 02. We had been on BT for landline and calls (free eve and weekends) and O2 for broadband (unlimited), but both prices kept on being increased so that we were paying about £36-40 each month in total. We spotted some good deals online and decided we wanted to take advantage of a few offers elsewhere so I phone O2 for the MAC code. They asked us what the offers were an I explained we wanted free anytime calls and to continue with our unlimited broadband downloads - we had worked out that if we went elsewhere, including line rental, we could get it for £18 per month total. O2 said they would 'work something out', took about 30 seconds and they sorted us out with the equavlent package so we are paying around £17.50 a month for line rental, free anytime calls and unlimited broadband. Transfer seems to be easy and we are keeping our phone number.0 -
thanks jennybee. I wish we could switch to o2 but we cant as at the moment in our area they can only offer us the basic access bb which doesnt suit our needs.
Nevermind the search continues:j0
