Hi there fellow forum-ees!

I have a (i think) complicated question about a tax rebate. Should have got this sorted ages ago.

I stopped working Aug 2011 and havent worked since. So I worked 5 months of this financial year and paid tax at the full rate. (I can give figures later)
I have part 1A of the p45 from my last job.

Parts 2 & 3 were give to the jobcentre when I started a claim for contribution-based jsa. However the jobcentre have now stopped my claim because they say I left my job without a good enough reason. (I did!)
So they've now sent me a letter saying what I recieved in jsa has now become taxable, along with a recent P45. In the letter it says the jc cannot check my tax position due to lack of information and that they have contacted hmrc who will work out if I owe any tax.
Will they contact me if they owe me tax??
And also if I try to claim a tax rebate which p45 will I use? Part 1A from my old job or the one the job centre sent?

Do I just wait for them to contact me? Also please dont ask me to contact my old employer they are currently in administration and probably wont deal with me.

Thanks this is the first time in 10 years I havent worked and get awfully confused with things like these.:D

Part 1A of a P45 is just for your records it cannot be used as a P45. The only P45 you have is the one from the Jobcentre and is the one you should use if you are making a P50 tax rebate claim. Remember to keep part 1A of this P45 as well.
