Upgrade Halifax Current to Rewards Current

Hello all

Has anyone updated their Halifax Current account to a Rewards Current account (not ultimate rewards)??

Did you have any problems?
Did they issue new cards?
Was there any delays?

Or did they just change the name and leave everything as was? (except for the £5 a month)

Any advice would be helpful Thanks....

    That's all they do, yes.

You need to ask them to 'redesignate' the account a Reward variant, not 'upgrade' it.

'Upgrade' in Halifax-speak usually means a change to something you pay them for.

OR cancel & then join, bagging yourself £100 in the process.

Unless they "do a First Direct" on you & remember all previous customers within the past 500 years.

Sort to jump in but can I ask for Clarification on what this means (as in it's impact to me?) we upgraded our account - I had no knowledge of redesignaion, well I still don't! - is this going to have a negative effect on us or our account then?

  • it means the exact same thing, as long as you specify its the reward account you will be fine.

As long as you specify it's the 'Reward' current account rather than the 'Ultimate Reward' current account, you'll be fine. ;)
