Hi there
I would like advise on the claim I made to this company.
Basically my car was parked on the street and I wasn't inside the car;this lady hit my car and scratched it but she then left a message on the windscreen apologising and asking to contact her so she would have provided me the insurance details.
This happend 6 months ago and we submitted a claim and all the requested documents.
The problem is that everytime we call them they keep saying that they will call back in 48hours and they are not doing anything abuot the claim.
What shuold I do in this case?
thnk you

Who is it you are claiming from? Your insurance company or directly from hers?
By "not doing anything about the claim" what do you actually mean? Has the car been repaired yet or not?0 -
I am claiming to their insurance company.
Their insurance company is renault and I called them and made the claim and I have the claim reference number and everything.
We already have the estimate from the mechanic and passed all those documents to them as well but they haven't given any mony yet.
They keep saying they will call us back and this has been going on since may 2011.0 -
Go to a claim management company, they ignore anything else normally.
(then they complain the managemnt companies cost an excessive amount)0 -
I am sorry but I am a bit confused by what you said.
they ignore what ?
Can you tell me the name of a good claim management company?
and who complains the management company an excessive amount?0 -
A no win no fee accident management company.
I'd choose any of the ones that pay you a fee for the introduction, or give you an ipad nowadays.
Insurers tend to ignore individuals, as they assume eventually they'll give up and go away.
An accident management company is more likely to go to court.
The accident management company will also try to give you an expensive credit hire car while yours is being repaired, again another expense to the third party insurer.
Be careful though, it's usually more expensive than your car, and you are responsible for any marks to it.
Refuse if you don't need it.
As the accident management company add their fees to the claim, the third party insurer has to pay them.
Ironically, they then complain about all the excessive claims they have to pay out on, while propogating the need to go down that route.0 -
So true about the excessive claims, like these days on the news insurance companies claiming that is because of accident claim companies that their premium is increasing but they are very irresponsible them selves as they keep messing around with people.
I have been on this since may 2011 and it's very frustrating.
Can you please give me a list of some accident management companies that give ipad and stuff so I know I am choosing the best one0 -
accident management wont be intrested, op have you advised your own insurance?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
-
AxM will be if they are willing to do credit repairs (and thus also credit hire).
Are you comp or TPFT on your own insurance?0 -
Chanz4 your right, I believe many accident claim companies won't take my case as there is no personal injury, the car was simply parked and when I retuned it was scratched and there was a letter asking to call the person who did it.
and I have not contacted my insurance company as this might make things worse, many say that the insurance company increases the premium even if it wasn't my fault; So I prefer to keep my insurance company out of it.
and
I am fully comp insurned.
@InsideInsurance what you mean by credit repair? what is this exactly?
The situation is very different, there is no injury but damage to the car, in addition it's been 6-8 months already.
I called them today again and they said they would have called me back in the afternoon but call at all; it's obvious that they are just making fun of me and I am very frustrated by this.0 -
Credit hire and credit repair are offered by some accident management companies (the former by almost all, the later by a lot less). Effectively they pay for your repairs to be done and give you a hire car whilst its being done. Rather than you paying them for the repairs however its done on credit and they pursue the TP/TPI for reimbursement. What happens if they cannot get the money back for some reason (eg liability disputed or TP has no insurance and no funds) varies between providers, some write it off, some make you buy an insurance against it happening and others will make you reimburse them). Many however will only offer credit repair to those who are TPFT (ie no cover for the repairs elsewhere)0
