BtT say they cant change my installation address

Hi, I want to move my telephone line over to Sky>However, I have run into problems because when we bought our flat and had BT installed the post code that I had then has since changed.I have had my billing address changed.The lady at Sky said that she had the same situation herself and it can be changed, the BT guy I spoke to yesterday said it could but OpenReach were closed because it was a Sunday.Today I have been told it cant be done I have insisted of speaking with the guy from BTs manager but I have already been on the 'phone nearly an hour!Help any ideas?

Hi,

There is a department within Openreach who are responsible for managing addresses, called the Network Address Team. You cannot call them directly as they only deal with communication providers (e.g. BT/Sky/TalkTalk), but Sky will definitely be able to call them, even if your line is not with them yet.

What they need to do is call the NAT and have your phone line's address updated within the Openreach database. When this happens, it will either take immediate effect (i.e. you'll be able to place your order on the same day), or sometimes it can take 4-5 days for the address records to filter through all of Openreach's systems such that Sky will then see the change.

If it helps the Sky operative, Openreach's NAT phone number is 0800 012 1157 - just get them to call this number and explain the problem - the NAT should be able to work it out and fix the records.
