First things first, does anyone else you know have access to your security details?
Have you written them down somewhere where someone could access them, or have you shared them with someone.
If not, Barclays should refund you the money immediately, pending investigation. They'll ask you to fill out some forms confirming that you didn't make the transactions.
They'll investigate over tge next few weeks (up to 21 days I believe) and as long as they find in your favour, it's likely nothing else will need to happen.
However, if they believe that either a) you made the transactions or b) your negligence lead to the fraud occurring, they will likely redebit the amount from you.

Negligence would be if you had written all your passwords down along with your account details and then lost it, or someone ha gained access to it.
By the sounds of it, that isn't what's happened here.

Phishing is an online scam, usually. You'll receive an email saying its from Barclays or wherever, and it will say something like "Your account has been compromised, please click here to log in"
It will direct you to what appears to be the Barclays Internet banking login page, but isn't. You enter all your details as you would when normally logging in, and then you'll get a message like "thank you, your details have been confirmed, please close the browser window" or something.
But as the website was a dodgy clone, what you typed would go straight to the scammers, and they would now have all the info they needed to log into your Internet banking.

Another wise thing to do would be to run a virus scan on your PC, as you may have some sort of malicious software running which monitors what you type (key logging) and then forwards it to the scammers, who sort out the info they need and use it.

    Hope this helps

how is it possinle for some to gain my telephone banking, im just waiting to hear what barclays say and they dont put me in the wrong so they have an excuse not to re imburse my money, have any ideas on what there investigation steps are for telephone banking fraud, can they provide me the address of the person account it had beeen transerfd to, i dont save nothing on my phone or my computer regarding telephone banking, this was done verry smart by the fraudsters, they had transferd small amounts to make the account genuine and then larger payments so the banks dont flag my account basterd even changed the contact numbers

Telephone phishing is also possible. Somebody rings you up pretending to be Barclays, and asks you to confirm your identity by answering some security questions, including your pin.
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis

Yes these fraudsters are very devious, they may well call and install some sense of urgency or panic in the victim. They might say they are from your bank calling about a suspicious activity on your account whilst on the phone. They may for example say someone is attempting to buy a TV in a shop miles from where they know you are.

They just need to confirm a few security details immediately with you so they can get the police there.

Never trust anyone calling from "the bank". They may be genuine, but you cannot guarantee that. Ask for a name and extension and call the number on the back of your debit card and ask for them. That will stop this kind of fraud.

In theory the banks should reimburse you first and then investigate. They often neglect this step. You may need to remind them.

I am not 100% sure but I am sure FSA guidlines are that you should be refunded within 24hours.

This happened to me a good while back though granted it wasn't for such a large amount and I was told that a refund would be given that day.

I would get back on the phone to them. they should be able to listen to the call and determine if the voice matches previous calls.
