Mr A Poppadoms glitch - spend 33p, get £2.02 back
Options
I bought these today in Mr A. SEL said 36p rolled back to 31p but after I left the store I checked my receipt and saw I had been charged 33p (which is the price shown online)
So I went back, got the 2p overcharge refunded and also a £2 gift card which Mr A gives you each time you are overcharged for something. I probably wouldn't have bothered for just 2p but I learned about the £2 gift card on this site and wasn't going to pass up my first chance to get myself one
So, it might be worth looking for these if you are at a Mr A anytime soon. If you see them priced at 31p bung them in your basket and then if you are charged 33p do as I did to get yourself £2.02 back. If you end up paying 31p just take them to CS for a refund saying you've changed your mind
Be warned, the rest of my post is drivel :rotfl:
My total shop today was £41.52 but after handing over a few APGs I only paid 34p (yup, 34 PENCE!). So thanks to the £2.02 I got back I got paid £1.68 to take away my shopping
Then I came home to find my mail contained a £4 giftcard from their CS team because I was having a problem with the APG website not working. Taking that into account I was effectively paid £5.68 to take home all my shopping today
To say I am happy would be a huge understatement. Thank you to everyone on MSE for all the tips that helped me achieve my dream of being paid to take home my weekly shop

What is APG?
Also get everyone in the family to buy a pack separately and claim a £2 voucher.0 -
thank you I had no idea the £2 giftcard thing existed - is it an official national asda policy or has itjust happened each time you complained? do they give it you straight away instore at CS desk? sorry for the quiz and thanks again x0

I reckon they should give you this £2 if you get overcharged for your online shopping as well , they just refund me the difference with an apology and thats it!!0

Sorry to sound pedantic, I don't want to burst your bubble or anything - but surely if loads of people start doing this just to get free vouchers Asda aren't going to like it? This might stop them doing the vouchers then for people that genuinely HAVE been overcharged for things. It's ok for the OP to have done it, because she was already buying the poppadoms, but for everyone else to now do it just to get the vouchers is taking the mickey a bit I think.0

IME (painful at times) you would think the CS rep was giving out of his/her own pocket. I've had numerous excuses in my time:
'You need to walk out of the shop and come back or it's not valid' (this is my favourite)
'We don't do them anymore'
'The manager has told us we have passed our quota for this week'
blah blah blah.0 -
Thats if you are able to get the giftcard!
My local have said that it no longer exist, DM agreed and so did CS via there free phone number, tho I was sent a £4 voucher for my trouble by them.0 -

Anyone who buys them when they state an incorrect price has been overcharged end of, Asda don't do this for the good of their health they do it so that they aren't heavily fined by trading standards for displaying incorrect prices.0 -
Can I just ask with the Asda Price Guarantee does it work on your online shopping as I have never bothered with it to be honest as I only buy the CHEAPEST things on offer and doubt very much T's would work out 10% cheaper as I only scour for the absolute bargains at A
Aau can I ask , to get over 40 quids worth of APG vouchers do you have to purposly pick items which are more expensive at T's , coz I don't bother with that either! lol :rotfl:0 -

I think you missed my point, Flo. Actively seeking out a product that has been displayed wrong, just to get a voucher, seems like a bit of an underhanded way to play the system, regardless of their policy. If people weren't going to buy the product anyway they shouldn't be doing it just because of this.0 -
Its not really a 'glitch' at the tills where you get £2.01 back on your shopping , you have to purposely buy the items , then take them to CS and probably argue with them to try and get the voucher so not a glitch as such!
;)
