Cleaning advice please.

A plastic M&S bag fell onto one of the small rings on my ceramic hob whilst it was heating this evening. I caught it quickly and turned off the heat but I'm still left with a few melted bits on the ceramic surface and would be grateful for any tips people might have to clean it and make the ring useable again.
I'm not particulary worried about the appearance with the oven being four years old my main concern is it being safe to use.
Thanks.

Can you not turn hob on low and scrub with a tea towel should come away easily enough, same as when nylon/polyester welds to an iron?
  • i just scrape it off with the blade of a knife then wash well before using and have never had a problem with that
