Basic bank account and mortgage

hi,

Quick question, if you have a basic bank account because you choose to have one will you be able to get a mortgage because you have a basic account rather then a normal full bank account with all the frills??

Thanks in advance for your reply :)

If the basic bank account is not reported to the credit reference agencies (CRAs), and you have no other credit information on your CRA file (past or present), then this could cause some issues with a mortgage provider.

Under such circumstances you may find you have to jump through a few more hoops than the usual submitting of 3-6 months bank statements and P60 etc.
