What Bank Accounts Should i Open?

Hi there!

Currently, i have one bank account, which is HSBC. In the next few hours, im looking to open up a few bank accounts, but i don't want to go with a bank that isn't any good and just bank with them because they are a bank.

I've got around £800 on me so i would be looking to put around 25 percent of that money in every one of the banks i open.

I'm 18, currently working.

What's your take on opening up an current account/overdraft? I have applied for a few things over the last few months and i haven't got accepted for nout.

If i were to open up a bank account, i would like to be sure i will get accepted for one and i really don't want to open up anything and i get rejected.

why ever do you want to open a 'few' bank accounts?

Opening current accounts will require a credit search being done on you, and trying to open several at once will have a negative impact on your credit rating.

There is very little justification for opening several accounts. Surely opening one current account so that you then have two in total should be good enough for most people.

If your opening a couple then I'd recommend not asking for an overdraft - less likely to leave a credit search on your report then.
