hi there,
me and my partner got together two years ago. she had two children to here ex as well as a joint account with £1800 overdraft and £2500 other debts. i spoke with her ex and i agreed to pay all debts off if he paid the overdraft (though he never worked). i payed all debts off. now however, he has unfortunately passed away. where will my partner stand with what still is a £1800 overdraft on a joint account?
thank you

I believe a joint account means joint negative balances as well as joint credit balances . Unless you've got something in writing I suspect your partner has no chance of not paying, and even if they have I think it's unlikely. My opinion only, not stated fact ....0

the joint account is joint, so your partner is fully responsible for the amount due
did he leave any assets ?0
