awww this is so sweet!!! alas I have no money to bid!! (cos noone is bidding on my auctions!!:(
Bit disappointing that only 95% of the winning bid goes to charity though!

Lets say it goes for £100! Does the seller really need that fiver

Think that is a bit tight!! what about the fees? better then nothing?????

I must live in the only town in england that didnt even get 1 snow flake....

95% is very good, if he wanted to be really bad, he could only give £2 and still qualify as a charity auction.

So 5% to cover his fees is reasonable, plus if i read the missionfish statement right, they take will 15% of final price. plus ebay will pay 95% of FVF to the chosen charity, then there is gift aid declaration.

So the charity doesnt really lose any money. it can actually make more in some cases

If it goes for it's current price (£23, which will mean a donation of £21.85), MissionFish will take 15% + £2, which is £5.28. In other words, they'll get roughly 25% of the donation.

  • Hello all, my name is Chris and i was the guy who sold the Snowman on eBay last week. Just wanted to say thanks to all the people on here who stuck up for me when discussing the who 95% going to Charity.

Because i listed this item in two categories and opted for a Gallery Featured and Featured Listing as well as other marketing options, this listing cost me around £60 before the auction started. I just wanted to clarify this to anyone who thought that i was not being fair. The snowman eventually went for £23.00 of which 95% went to charity and a few nice people who bidded but didnt win also emailed me to say they were sending cheques to children in need.

I had a really fun day reading all the emails and also i noticed, from my ebay reports, that an amazing 500 people viewed it via this thread so i thought i would go ahead and get an account and say a big thank you to all of you for your enthusiastic support. I really appreciate it! :snow_grin :snow_grin :snow_grin :snow_grin :snow_grin :snow_grin
