can the oil in oil fired central heating go off?

once a tank is full, can you literally just leave it til you need it again, even if that may last you 4 years?

  • Don't see why not, as it's a sealed unit - but probably best to call a couple of suppliers or your heating engineer, to be sure.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

    It will atrophy eventually if you don't turn it over but I have some that has been sitting in the tanks for twenty years and it is still usable.
