Compensation offer via financial ombudsman

I am currently in dispute with NatWest via the Financial Ombudsmam. I have been trying to close a business account for nigh on three years and my business manager has not helped at all. In fact, I went to UK from France, where I live, for a pre-arranged meeting with him and he failed to turn up and the NatWest branch couldn't contact him! The story is much longer but, in a bid to put an end to it all as I am no longer trading, I went to the Ombudsman. My first telephone contact with them was this morning and they say that NatWest are offering me £250.00 for the "inconvenience and stress". I have said that this barely covers my ferry fee plus the 3 years of personal worry. Anyone have any views please on this offer? I have no doubt I will have to pay back the business overdraft someway or another, but do feel that this could all have been sorted years ago if anyone from NatWest had answered my calls, e-mails or letters! Happy new Year to all

Has the Ombudsman finished with your complaint? Is there any chance they can continue negotiations with N/West if you are not happy with their offer?0 -

The FOS award very little towards compensation and it never reflects the financial and related losses the consumer has suffered. They can award compensation for the time and expense the consumer incurs for complaining but I've NEVER had this in any of my claims even though I always ask for it. We as consumers are expected to 'work' for free and deserve very little for our time.0 -
I can only find this thread for the OP.
The OP did a thread under a different username and got a number of responses. This is the same post under a new username. So changing a username doesn't get better answers?
