New Graduate - need advice on accounts & loans

I'm a new Northern Irish graduate. I intend to continue my education next year with a masters degree.
I'm in a bind. I need funding for my degree, and I was under the impression that Graduate loans could be used for this purpose.

I've been lurking around other forums reading up on the subject and I now believe that it will not be possible for me to obtain a graduate loan because I am unemployed, but I have found little concrete evidence to support this. None of the banks that I've looked at (Ulster Bank and HSBC - RBS and Lloyds have no branches here it seems) outright say that an income is required to apply for a graduate loan, but it seems to be the general consensus on forums across the internet.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm expecting to do nothing all year and get a loan for my education, I'm trying to get a job, but there are just so few available in my field that I can find. And anything I have found so far, I have been unsuccessful.

Can anyone shed some light for me on the situation surrounding Graduate loans, and any other options that may be available to me to fund my next course?
