Can a man of around 25 get Prostate Cancer?

Hi,
Forgive me if I'm mistaken but I always thought it was an "older mans" cancer. Believe me when I say I feel very guilty for writing this but I got talking to a young man this evening and he seemed to be absolutely fine, if a little tired/dazed looking. I lost one of my aunts to cancer and she looked like your stereotypical cancer patient but this boy? he didn't look any different from you or I. He did say he was on ESA though and I'm guessing he wouldn't be on that unless he was genuine. Can somebody tell me if it's possible to get that cancer like that so young or could he have possibly been lying? I don't know... it's just as I say I've seen people who looked in a very bad way with cancer and yet he seemed healthy enough. I want to make it known that I sincerely apologise if I upset anybody by this question but it was just something I felt I had to ask about. I know the pain of people with cancer and I just need to be sure this guy isn't lying to me because I wouldn't like to think people can lie about things like that.
John.

Yes, your post is offensive. Google would have given you the answer. Prostate cancer can occur at any age, although it is more common in older men.0

Someone who hasn't been touched by the Movember madness then - google it
Great site and full of info, really trying to inform the nation on men's health, particularly prostate cancer. 0 -

It wasn't meant to be offensive in any way, shape or form. I'm asking for advice because I don't want to be taken in by someone who could potentially be lying to me. My mental health problems mean that I can be a little open with people and they take advantage of me. I'm learning to be more suspicious of strangers and not so free with my trust. I hope you can understand.

Everyones body ages differently so its possible but not allways probable to contract any illness or disease at any age although prostate cancer is more prevelant from 40/45 onwards. My Dad and his brother both had prostate cancer but you couldnt always tell by just looking at them and im getting to the age now where im starting to worry about it.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

As someone with an invisible illness, you should know better than to judge someone by their appearance.0 -

Yes, I'm well aware of that but my situation dictates otherwise. If I know he is genuine then I will feel a lot more comfortable, for personal reasons. Thanks for your honesty.

I'm a bit fascinated by these answers, because I have to admit I would have thought it was exceptionally rare in a 25year old - can you please give links to your sources as Google seems to be letting me down tonight p&ty.I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
