Do you think that you should get compensation? If so why? You haven't been disadvantaged. All you need(ed) to do is call them and ask them to re-instate your previous limit.
YES IT IS A SCAMThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ditto above. It is a scam. They tell you this to try and get money out of you up front.
Other scam claims are:
1 - they represent the Government (or FSA or even the card provider)
2 - there is a pot of money waiting for you
3 - there has been a court case that requires them to refund (or laws changed)
4 - just having PPI is a reason for complaint (its not - it is a valid product to have when sold and set up correctly)
There are variations on the above that can sound plausible but are complete and utter BS. Many feel that it is similar to advance fee fraud. Some claims companies have had the police involved. However, the ministry of justice tends to prefer to shut them down once they have had enough complaints to make their radar (Cartel took over £30 million in up front fees off consumers before the MoJ shut them down)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
