Help - Washing Machine Door Stuck

Help, please. The washing machine door won't open. It has a load in which is washed, which includes my son's brand new rugby shirt. Could anyone give me any help/tips on what to do to open it. I've tried moving the dial round, putting it on another quick wash to see if that would clear it, and switching it off at the mains.

Many thanks

  • I am assuming that there is now no water left in the machine

  • If there is no water left it sounds like it might be the pecker assembly that is causing the fault, if it has broken it will need to be replaced however if it has slipped it may just need re-adjusting so that there is a small gap between it and the drive belt.
    I hope this helps

  • We used to have this problem with an old washing machine of ours. Can't remember the make but an engineer advised us to slip a credit card in the side panel below the catch and lift up. This worked a treat, we carried on doing this for a year or so before it died of other causes. Once you get the knack it's dead easy. Not sure it will work on all makes and models.
