Help and advice on reclaiming - Unknown account numbers

Dear All,
I am about to get started on my bank charges but I haven't the foggiest on my account numbers.
Plan is to pull all my old accounts of experian/ equifax and start to contact but can you do this by phone or is it all post.
Then ask for list of bank charges against these accounts post I presume.
Sorry very stupid questions but I would rather reclaim it all myself then pay someone else to do it for me!
