Hi,

I reclaimed PPI a few months ago. In the same finance package i paid £454 as a one of payment to Hitachi (Advent) for GAP insurance. I was sold this policy under the same circumstances as PPI so i believe i have a case to reclaim.

Does anyone know exactly how to go about doing this? Is there any templates or forms?

I know the company, and the policy number, so shall i just write a letter?

If i could have a little of bit help on this.....

I will explain the background a little bit.

Purchased car with Hartwell Ford - finance done through Hartwell finance.

PPI done through their sister company - Trading & Finance Ltd - have reclaimed this.

Hartwell finance inform me that as the GAP policy was paid in a one off payment then Hitachi (Advent) hold the details. I have called Advent who are the claim handlers of GAP policies for Hitachi who are the underwriters.

They have advised me that as they did not sell the policy, the liability of a reclaim due to miss selling does not lie with them, but with Hartwell.

Can anyone clear this up for me?
