Cost of NHS Dental treatment

What does the top rate of payment (£204?) cover? I know it is for a course of treatment but what does this mean ? Would it cover all the work that needs doing eg several filling, crown, extraction etc or does each tooth constitute a course of treatment ?

It's for all the treatment necessary to make you dentally fit , so not per tooth.

However it may be necessary to get you dentally fit over a period of time ie stabilise things first then improve hygiene, diet then do rest of treatment, or root fill a tooth wait to see if it settles then crown , or extract a tooth provide a temporary denture then another when healing finished. In which case you may need several courses of treatment and pay several sets of charges.
