I purchased a car in 2005 through Ford dealership and finance arranged through Ford Finance. I paid off the finance in December 2010 and have only just discovered that I was paying for PPI, even though I did not know that I had this. When I bought the car, the salesman, also the Manager, did not give me any option as to whether I wanted PPI, but I stupidly signed for it, believing in to be for GAP Insurance which he spoke to be about.
I was out of work for four months in 2009, and had I have known that I had the Insurance, I would have made a claim, but because I didnt know I had it, just carried on paying, and not defaulting.
Even though I signed, can I still claim?

Thankyou

    Yes.

Were you informed by the salesperson that you could still take out the loan and purchase the insurance on the loan (the PPI) from any other third party?
If you weren't then it's a simple case of mis-selling.
