Hi,
After some eBay advice.
Just sold an item on eBay, which was collected on Saturday.
Should have guessed there would have been trouble, as she let me down over pick up once, gave me a sob story about being a single parent and asked if i could deliver it (a round journey of almost 30 miles) for £5.
Anyway, her boyfriend/friend collected it on her behalf and now she has messaged me saying she wants a refund as it is not what was described.
I don't mind giving her a refund if i have to (it was only £10), but i don't want to have to go and pick it up myself. Am concerned as she obviously knows where i live now.
What should i do?

Firstly, is it not as described? Secondly did they pay cash on collection or paypal?
Either way I don't think it is your responsibility to collect the item.It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -
If they paid by paypal be careful in case they do an item not received claim which they will win.
Unless your quick and post them something, Recorded delivery. Small packet £1 or so?
If they paid cash, Suggest they sell it on.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Hi,
thanks for your quick replies.
It was cash on collection. It was a big heavy item, so it was pick up only.
I thought i described it properly, but i suppose i can kind of see her point. Like i said, she can return it and i will happily give a refund, just seems a bit silly as the boyfriend/friend picked it up ok and it will cost her more in petrol to do so (hence me worried about her asking me to compensate or pick up myself). If she does this, should i just say no chance?DFW Long Hauler 292 / Sealed Pot Challenge Member #1452

Just tell her to have it dropped back to you in the same condition and you will refund- chances are they won't botherI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
