TARMAC Advice pls- hopefully today

We are having a new drive laid this week - they have done the hardcore bits . Yesterday they mentioned laying 2 inches of tarmac- can someone advise if this is normal? Too shallow? Thanks

A project starting from scratch, requires excavation, a stone layer of approximately 75 / 100mm, then a binder course of tarmac typically 20mm density of 50mm depth. Then the top surface ( Wearing Course ) of 25/30mm depth.

you need two layers, base and wearing courses.
