booked my slot for asda this morning, it was only showing to sunday 18th dec when i looked yesterday as available checked today and its showing up to monday 19th dec now. So i am assuming as the week goes on it will add on a day so for tomorrow, tuesday 20th should be available. Also found this is the same for sainsbury as well.

so ive done a basic basket to make up to the £25 mininum for delivery just so my slot is booked with asda for the mon the 19th dec, right now it consists of 24 mangos and 1 pack of bananas :)

closer to the time i will amend my basket and add what i need as i havent got the time at the minute to go through it all! in the last 7 years at christmas i have only ever been able to get 1 year of that as an online delivery, they always book up really fast!

im going to order what i need for the normal month and anything that is out of stock or fresh veg i need in particular i will pick up at the local market as i always go for flowers on christmas eve but other than that if i havent got it, tough! asda or a tesco on christmas eve isnt my idea of fun! now just to remember to amend my 24 mangos and 1 pack of bananas! :)
  • I debated whether to put this in another section but I would say it's a grabbit as most of the slots will go before the end of the week.

I've just checked Tesco and they have slots available for 18th December and Sainsburys and Asda have theirs available for 19th December. Try to get in early to get your delivery slot for your christmas shop. I usually book mine for the 19th then login every day to change it to the next day to try to get a slot nearer to Christmas but still leave a couple of days just incase I've to get some bits that weren't in stock. HTH someone.

Thank you for the reminder. I do the same :)

I have 4 kids under 6 and no car - we NEED shopping delivered!

And if you book a slot for the 23rd and it doesn't turn up are you going
to trundle off to Tesco on Christmas eve with your brood in tow?

That's what I mean by my comment, not that people shouldn't have a
home delivery, just that a late delivery slot shouldn't be relied on ;)
especially by those with sprogs and without a car :D
  • How long do you get to amend your order? And do they take your money from your bank straight away or just on the morning they pick your order ( want to book order when it says 21st but don't get paid till 20th)

All of them take the money the day that your shopping comes. With Tesco you can change the order right up to some silly time in the morning that it comes (think it's usually 4.15am) but with the others I think it's usually by 10pm the night before. Waitrose I think has the earliest last time you can change your order if I remember rightly but I haven't used them for a while.

Sainsburys is 11pm the night before. Hopefully I'll remember otherwise it will be a very expensive box of cream crackers and a confused delivery driver.
  • Thanks for the reminder, we're having Christmas at my mum's just checked and booked a 23rd December slot for her address. Wouldn't book Christmas eve in case everything didn't arrive at least with the 23rd I can nip to a supermarket to pick up the bits that don't arrive. Would never do a full Christmas food shop in store in the couple of days before Christmas, can't stand the thought of wasting a few hours in a packed supermarket battling around with a trolley with everyone else. I have my shopping delivered every week as I really can't stand wasting time going to the supermarket when for £5.00 they pick it and deliver it to my door.
