Hi all
I am about to re-vamp my very old Kitchen, However rather than forking out for a whole new kitchen I have heard of companies that will re new all doors etc.
Is this a good idea anyone used these before?
Or am I better getting a whole new kitchen?
Thanks

It really depends what you're starting off with in terms of quality and condition of the existing carcasses etc.
Have a good look at the carcasses, especially the one under the sink for signs of damp etc. Quite often the cheaper ones that do not have legs swell up at the bottoms due to spillages and the like. These will never last very long, so new doors etc on these will be a false economy.
New kitchen units are quite cheap these days. To be honest a lot of the cost is in the doors and the worktops.
you say the kitchen is very old. If it is more than 10 years old then I would serioulsy consider a new kitchen.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
I have to agree with Hugo, but would like to add that a revamp of the old units can sometimes cost more than a new fully fitted kitchen. If you've got the money a new kitchen would give you the oportunity to change the layout as well.0

I'm not sure how old the units are they seem in good condition.
I'm a bit worried at changing them as we live in a old house in case the new ones fall down off the wall!
Think I will speak to a joiner and see what he reckons. I'm not looking for a really expensive kitchen just one that looks nice we plan to sell on in a few years so Ikea red kitchen would be a big no no.Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0
