Shillbidding ?

Hi
I was interested in one of this sellers items http://http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/ashkarzain/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

but i have now been put of as i think he is shillbidding his auctions, he seems to have a lot of bids on his items by e***a (3) and by m***f (0) even his past items seem to have been bumped up too.
Not worth reporting to ebay as they do not seem concerned with shillbidding in the past.:(
Do you guys think he has been shillbidding.?

The link does not seem to be working, the seller is ashkarzain (33)

It looks to me like this seller is using a single shill bid to get the price they want rather than starting it at that price or putting a reserve on. My guess is it's to avoid listing fees.

eBay are lax on shill bidding as it obviously creates more income for them but they do act on occasion. As a buyer you need to ask yourself, how much do you want to pay? can you buy it cheaper? How do you feel about the sellers actions? If the price is artificially high but is still a good deal you may choose to buy anyway. Personally I wouldn't on principle because shill bidding is immoral.

  • Just the two feedback as a seller, one pos, one neg...

I know I'd rather bid elsewhere!
  • Check out youtube to see the real problem buyers are experiencing...

Between hidden bidders identities, the so called 'private listings' multiple accounts which allow the seller o bid against himself and the way the buyer information is written genuine bidders have a hard time proving their case to an organisation that isnt interested in anything but the sellers final value fees anyhow.

If an item isnt listen on the buy it now at a sensible price, I really won't use the auctions any more because the problem is so bad.
  • Thanks guys for putting my mind at rest, i knew it didnt look good.I will not be bidding out of principle.

Wouldnt it be nice to have an account to bid on his items and retract them so he wins them himself.

How many mutual cancellations can a buyer or seller do before ebay get suspicous?
