eBay seller won't dispatch item, paid by direct transfer

I need some advice/knowledge about what I can do. I won a set of alloy wheels about 4 months ago, but still can't get the seller to arrange collection by courier. We agreed I'd pay by bank transfer to avoid paypal fees, but now the seller is being VERY unhelpful when trying to arrange a courier to collect the wheels. I've given them countless opportunities to provide me with details of where and when to have the wheels picked up, but the seller only responds to every 3rd or 4th email, and never in time to sort anything. I've even gone to the bother of paying for the courier in advance and asking her to arrange collection her self (since the last few attempts she's been too late replying, or changed her mind about being available). The courier tried once but said the address didn't exist, and the postcode for the street was wrong too.

Bottom line is I'm past fed up of getting the run around, and want my money back. eBay are not willing to help because it's been more than 45 days, and I haven't been in to talk the bank yet about tracking the payment.

What can I do? Where do I even start?

Thanks
Martin

45 days is not relevant to you as you paid by BT.

Small claims is your only option and that is neither straightforward or definite.

Sorry but you have been scammed....
Other than attempt a small claims action which may be a complete waste of time there is not a lot you can do.
Now you know why they wanted to avoid paypal, to remove any chance of you getting your money back.
E.bay will not want to know, they advise you to use paypal to help them protect you and if you refuse they are not interested.

Have you tried pulling their Ebay contact details and phoning them?

As you paid by BT, then you do at least have their Bank details. The Police now need to be involved in this as it is a clear case of 'Obtaining money by deception' and 'Fraud'.

The police won't do anything other than begrudgingly log a crime number and then tell the OP to take it up as a civil matter. Believe it or not they don't have time to chase down the thousands of small time scams that happen all the time! The only time they would start taking any real notice would be if the sums involved were massive or if there was some proof it was a serial scammer.

You can't even leave feedback after this length of time.
If you can get a definite address then you can try small claims but that will be it.
