Advice on sky bill

Hi everyone

Hope you can help me
7 months ago I took the advice of the forum and called sky to "leave" if they couldnt reduce my monthly outgoings. Without any quibble they offered me 6 mths half price. Needless to say I snapped their hands off. During this period I also changed my phone line and broadband to sky as worked out cheaper tham BT. As advised by sky I called last month to see if there were any further deals I could have only to be told I could not run any deals back to back. This doesnt sound right as my mother in law ahd two deals one after the other. I complained to exec complaints and they agreed no offers back to back but as a good will gesture gave me half price phone and broadband for 6 months. The grand total of £6 monthly. Needless to say I am not happy.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Anyone have any advice on how I culd possibly get a better deal?
Any advice greatly appreciated

xxx :D

Some people have failed to get ANY offers - even after actually cancelling! :(
Seems to be in the lap of the Gods, so consider yourself lucky to get two offers as you have done, albeit that you're "only" saving £6 per month now.

On what basis did you complain? Any offers are entirely discretionary. Otherwise the price you pay is the contract price you agreed.

We were with Sky for 14 years, just cancelled our subscription as we're cost cutting in readiness for moving overseas and getting Virgin Media Tivo installed for our daughters who will be staying here.

Two weeks, possibly 3, after we cancelled and with Sky being taken off this Friday and the Tivo coming this Thursday, Sky called to offer us 6 months half price if we stay with them................bit late to make an offer seeing as it was cancelled weeks ago, if they had offered it when OH called, we might have kept if for 6 months, then cancelled :D

The part you did not mention is that when an offer is applied it results in the reimposition of a fresh minimum term, just as if you had signed up with a new 12 month commitment. This is fine if you weren't going anywhere, but a real PITA if you decide to cancel for an unrelated reason.
