I am doing stockings for my mum and brother this year.
For my brother I have got : Deoderant , socks , razors , dvd , chocolates. Came to under a 10er.
For my mum so far - novelty socks , rimmel eye shadow.. not sure what else?
The reason I am doing it is my dad left in April and he usually made Xmas's quite miserable so this year I want it to be fun , exciting and just nice really. x

What a lovely daughter and sister you are.
I do stockings for grown up sons , a sister and an aunt every year and love it.
Some examples - Scratch cards; miniature spirits / liqueur / champagne; small kitchen gadgets eg, meat thermometer, nutcracker, melon baller etc; torch; tape measure; christmas mug; fancy hankies; corkscrew / bottle opener; perfume miniature; small fancy sweets / chocolates; glamour rubber gloves; novelty shower caps; nice pen / pencil; car windscreen ice scraper; keyring; personalised tree decorations; hot water bottles; lip balm; bath / shower gel miniatures; toothbrushes; manicure sets ...
Have a look at http://www.hawkin.com/ and http://stockingfillas.co.uk/ for more inspiration. The really daft things can be the best fun. One year I bought a 4 pack of Christmas decorated toilet rolls in M&S and put one in every stocking - I thought my aunt might stop breathing she laughed so hard. Another year she got a "grow your own boyfriend kit" and she gets fancy rubber gloves and washing up brush so she can help me with the dishes on Christmas day!0 -
Depends who was in the stocking?
:rotfl: Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
The scratch card idea is a great one, I put them in christmas crackers as well.
Other ideas: candles, reindeer poop (do a search and you will find the recipe!), gloves, nail file, nail polish, lipstick/balm/gloss, hm bead bracelet, hm vouchers for a manicure for your mum for whenever she wants one.
Its a lovely idea, I wish you all a VERY merry Christmas! X0 -
I/my parents do a stocking for each other (though more often than not they forget and I have to prompt them) and in them we put:
Dad - Aftershave, some other skin care stuff, car stuff, socks, various choccies, little joke things like pooping reindeer, stationary, a little miniature of drink, and a few nuts and an orange in the toe
Mum - Smelly candles/tealights, choccies, again a miniature (Baileys or the like), make up-y stuff, skin care stuff, again stationary, little novelty things and nuts and an orange.
Always a tube of jelly tots for my mum and minstrels for my dad! We put a scratch card in too

For some cheap fun stuff have a wander round the 99p store - was there the other day and they had lovely big china mugs in shape of Rudolph and Santa etc - perfect for hot chocolate drinks. Lots of scented candles and books etc to fill stocking up for not much money. If you choose carefully you can get some good stuff in there0
