Can't have cheque book on Silver Account!!!!

I opened a bank of Scotland Silver account mainly for the benefits and cheaper than my Halifax Reward account. Asked telephone banking to send a cheque book and they can't initiate one for me. Have to go in branch and she mentioned an indicator being changed in branch. So this account is being ditched!
It's a current Silver account, not basic and in the reading it says Silver account: Debit card, cheque book, how strange.

Bosie the title of your thread isn't true.
You can have a cheque book but have to go through an additional procedure to get it.
The Bank of Scotland aren't lying.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Well, Halifax is now part of LLoyds and I have an Ultra Reward account with overdraft, credit card. Wanted to cancel the Halifax account as it's £15 a month and the Silver £7.95. Strangely enough same product as LTSB Silver? I just thought a current account it advises it comes with a cheque book, why can't they simply send one. Also, my credit files with the 3 agencies are fine.
Anyway, will ask to cancel it.0
