Work and Housing benefit ???

I am single and renting privately, receiving housing benefit and appealing my failed ESA medical. I am at the end of my tether now trying to get this mess sorted out and feel I will have to return to work (if any job is available! ). Does anybody know if there is a threshold for earnings without if affecting my housing benefit. I cannot see me earning enough to enable me to pay rent, c.tax. water, gas, elec etc. I was claiming income support due to medical probs but failed the ESA /ATOS medical like thousands of others and am now worried sick about how I will manage . Any advice please :(
