The seller has listed a bunch of "test auctions" during the 10p listing day and will later change them to "2 3 4 5 6 7 GOLD DIAMOND VERTU PLATINUM MOBILE NUMBER" listings as they sell their items. It's an old moneysaving trick to reserve some cheap listings for 10p versus the £1.50 it normally costs to list £99 auctions.

    Hope this helps!

Report them to eBay and see if they get removed :P

They shouldn't be there, but it's not causing any harm.
  • Some times users list these type of auction as a way of replying to want it now posts, usually saying use the contact member for me to help you. I suppose it saves them having to have an active listing that matches the want it now posts.

They don't bother me, I was just curious.

I might use the idea myself sometime so I am not going to report them. :D

Sometimes they are for big companies joining ebay to test auctions, for example last year there was a big charity promotion on there. They used a lot of test auctions prior to their launch. :)

As a conspiracy theory I always wondered if it was dodgy people doing dodgy deals with each other or as a way of shifting money around.

They do have a simulated environment which I use for test auctions.
