Not the registered keeper, but MAIN driver?

Hi all,
My flatmate is going to buy a car for me to use (he has more money than me...)
* Will it be possible for him to buy and be the Registered Keeper (on the V5), even though he doesn't have a driving licence?
* Also, will i be able to carry fully comp insurance on it and be the ONLY driver on it?
This isn't 'insurance fronting.' Quite the opposite really!
Cheers!

Though it will look odd. I would have the flatmate down as a named driver if he has a provisional. Depending on your ages it won't add much to the policy as he can't drive it without you or someone else suitable in the car.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Thanks for the reply Olly!
He doesn't have any intention on driving ...ever! He has a fixie bike.
I was just under the impression that having a car on the road would need the owner to have their own policy, as well as the other person driving :huh:0 -
Yes & yes. However most online insurers systems won't handle it so you may have to go see a real broker0

Hi, I'm insured through the AA with Provident. I have fully comp and am the only named driver on my dads car for a year while he is working abroad.... give them a try, was fine for us! Only problem iIve had is when I was caught by a camera speeding the letter got sent to dads address as the reg keeper and I was late sending the form off, naughty naughty, but was ok in the end! (well apart from the points lol!). luckily the tax was also due so i'd gone to his house here to pick up the form for that and noticed the other one amongst the junk mail...:beer:0
