Any advice on a faulty boiler please

Wonder if anyone can offer any advice on where myself and my partner stand in regards to continual problems with our boiler.
My partner purchased the boiler in 2007, a "Broag Remeha". Over a year later the boiler started to play up and kept needing to be reset, after contacting the company the boiler was bought through they advised to reset the boiler plus bring up the pressure bar. This kept having to be done regularly until 2009 when the boiler gave up completely. Upon contacting the company we were advised the boiler was no longer under warranty and to call one of their external contracters who then had to come out and repair the boiler. They had to be called constantly as the boiler kept breaking down. Costing constant money to be paid out.
A couple of months ago after a service British Gas condemned the boiler and upon calling the boiler company we have now found out that the boiler is apparantly still under warranty, a fact we were misadvised on a while back. We have spent out over £1000 on repairs and want to know where we stand on claiming any of this back? We have sent a letter to the company with copies of all of the work and payments made for the boiler, but they seem to be stalling as after sending the letter recorded delivery they say its gone to their other office which is incorrect and have asked us to send again....any suggestions as to what we can do would be great.

Was you told it was out of warranty over the phone or in writing? If the former, are calls recorded?
Do you have the warranty documentation which states the terms and length of warranty?
Why was the boiler condemned? And can you prove the fault was inherent?
Court can be a lengthy process incurring costs on the way, so your better of filing your formal complaints to the correct office before considering this action.0 -

On what grounds and using what evidence do you think op could win a courtcase based on the little information posted?
If it does transpire ops case is valid and proven, not going through the companies complaints procedure first & thus allowing them to review the case may be the difference between being awarded fees and not.0
