Virgin Customer - Landline Calls via 18185

As a virgin customer, calls are really expensive so I always go through the 18185 number for Virgin customers which is 08081703703.

However, I have suddenly realised that everytime I was making a call this way, no one at the other end was picking up. After doing a test it appears that although I can hear the ringing tone, the phone at the other end is not actually ringing!!

Has anyone else had this problem?

Just tried and that number still works on my giffgaff mobile, get through to voice asking for you to dial the number. So maybe it was a temporary fault with 18185 or virgin blocking the number.

there is 2 seconds delay sometimes. although you can hear the ringing tone the other phone rings after 2 seconds.
if it doesnt ring at all than try different number, just to be sure that its not that phone number only

It is worth rememberingf that you NEVER hear the phone 'ringing at the other end' - as there IS no through path to the distant end until it answers. What you hear is your own network's signalling tones, which are payed to you based on the status of the call itself (awaiting answer, engaged, N/U or whatever).
