AVG anti virus.Does PC need to be in operation?

As per the title(yes i know its probably a daft question),but for the 'scan' function to operate do i have to leave the pc switched on when i go to work or will it scan even if switched off?

With your PC off, no functions whatsoever will operate.
On the bright side, nor will you get a virus...

You do!
Does your car go anywhere without the engine having been started, and the brakes hard on?

you don't really need to scan at all, as you have an on access scanner.

But you should scan with something else ocassionally ie malwarebytes, to catch anything avg misses
