thanks.

teenage daughter was viciously attacked , left with scarring and disfigurement, have been offered a sum from cica, but dont think its correct amount as have talked to other people in similar situations who have received substantially larger amounts.
filled forms in self, should we have gone through solictiors?
if so, is it too late now or can we still ask solictiors or should we just appeal ourselves.

just wondered if anyone else has had to deal with something like this and if so which is abest route to take

  • Can't help with your problem I am afraid, but my husband was assaulted (at one point they were almost charged with attempted murder) 3 years ago, when we applied to cica they took 18 months to write back and say "If my husband had not gone to the pub for a drink that day the assault would not have happened therefore no entitlement".
It was FA Cup final day in our own city and the first time our team had made it that far in 30 years!
Crazy system, since then I have heard of somebody being told that when he was mugged and the thief tried to cut his eye out with a tiny penknife that was on his keyring (the victims keyring), if he had not had the penknife on there it would not have happened!
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together. :p
