    Another good buy for scampi lovers- though a bit more expensive - is Tesco Finest Whole Scampi which are half-price at £2 at the minute. I tried them last week and found them much nicer than Youngs & Kintyre.

    The Kintyre scampi bites are formed out of scraps held together with sodium tripolyphosphate. It does not remotely resemble wholetail scampi.

    scampi bites...look at the scampi content on back , mabe wrong but think it is 17% , that is why called scampi bites,,,tesco value scampi frozen 47% scampi at £2.00

    Too right - and don't forget to mention the large ball of breadcrumbs that surrounds the 'scampi'.

    Basically you are paying for a bag of breadcrumbs and air!
