QUICK 3 usability answer required
Hello
I need to replace an out of contract phone quickly.
I can get a LG8138 on 3 Talk and Text 900 (750 anytime Xnet minutes and 150 texts) for £210 a year (£17.50/month)
I need the anytime Xnet minutes and texts, but am not interested in adding any other 3 services later.
Most of my calls will be from the Midlands area to landlines or other mobile networks and I have checked the 3 UK area coverage and it seems OK for calls.
There seems to be alot of discontent with 3 regarding coverage and contract cancellations.
1. Do you think I will be OK using 3 for calls and texts ?
2. Do 3 cancel contracts at will and without notice ? if so for what reasons ?
thanks
Paul

Hi Paul
If you are moving around loads whilst on the phone i.e. in the car then you may get dropped calls when you move from a 2G to a 3G area or vice versa. If you're fairly static when you make the call i.e. in your house then you will stay on either the 2G or 3G network and have no bother.
Obviously texts will be no problem as they will just get sent over the appropriate 2G or 3G network dependant on where you are.

I use 3, have done since December. Tried it up and down the motorway network, and despite what people have been saying, I have to say it is about as good as the others. Granted that the incidence with 3 of call drop may be slightly greater whilst on the move. But really, I'd say on balance that it was no better or worse than the competition.
No doubt that there are areas in the country where 3 is poor, and this is certainly the case with the others too.0 -
Thanks for the replies,
I think I'll cross my fingers and give it a go.0
