does anyone on here sell on ebay express? I can't say I remember any threads about it. I have been considering it but there is a lot of negativity on the ebay forums about it so I'm wondering if it's worth the bother? does anyone on here buy on ebay express rather than normal ebay? I have been looking at it and there are only two of my main ( much larger) competitors on there so we might get better exposure. I am just looking for anybody's practical experience of it, to compare it with running a "normal " ebay shop. I believe that it's free to list in but I don't know if the fees are higher? I can't quite work out why it's so unpopular over on the ebay boards.

well you need to be registered on Ebay as a business for a start....many probably wont want to do that.Every seller on eBay Express is a registered business who has signed up to a special code of conduct committing themselves to high standards. And every eBay Express seller must offer at least a seven-working-day returns policy.0

yes I know, and we are registered as a business, it's not a case of people not wanting to do it, if they are not a business, with all that entails, they couldn't register anyway. what I mean is that it seems unpopular with business sellers and I'm not sure why. you would think businesses would be pleased because it should be seen as more "professional " than normal ebay and should filter out the idiots and scammers. It may be because it is a completely seperate entity, therefore, express doesn't show up in normal searches, you have to go into express as a stand alone, it perhaps would work better if express did show up ? then again, it's hard enough trying to get shop listings to show up in normal searches any way! perhaps it will just take time to become popular, even now when I want to buy something, I just go into normal ebay, express just doesn't occur to me. I think it probably needs major advertising."There is a light that never goes out"0

well, just having a look at buyer protection policy for Ebay Express...certainly buyers will have an easier time claiming their money back.....;)An eBay Express buyer may file a claim under this policy for one of the following reasons:
If the buyer decides, for whatever reason, to return the goods they purchased on eBay Express to the seller within seven (7) working days of receiving the goods
so in effect, its a no quibble money back guarantee...if I dont like the item, send it back within 7 days and I get my money back0 -
that's fine, no different from any other mail order business, in fact I offer this already in my shop listings, the buyer has to pay the return postage though. you would think that buyers would prefer this level of protection. in effect, you are buying from a shop instead of some random individual who may or may not supply you with the goods you have paid for. it would be interesting to know if you are liable for your paypal fees when you are obliged to refund? luckily I have never been asked for a refund on anything so am unsure of the procedure with paypal. I would hope that our particular range of products wouldn't attract many unsatisfied customers as they would know exactly what they were getting before they buy. we don't sell anything that would be the "wrong size" or whatever, and if anything turned out to be faulty (unlikely again as no electronics etc.), we would replace immediately."There is a light that never goes out"0

At work...We have some motorcycle boots listed on ebay express, they have very limited catorgories, and none for motorcycle clothing, so we have listed them as 'mens boots'. Needless to say they havent sold, they do go into our shop as well, so all is not lost.
We are doing really well with the ebay classified ads, which are great.Amazon Sellers Club Member Number 52
