Return to Work Bonus

Hi everyone.
I've recently started a new job, doing 25 hours a week, after signing on for just under a year. I have heard murmerings of a return to work bonus but have no idea of the kind of sum this is or what it is based on. Google isn't providing me with much help, so wondered if anybody here has received the bonus and could tell me some more about it.
Cheers! :)

feelex- check with jobcentre- they should have gone though all entitlements when you signed off (1 month i think rent benefit run on, working tax credits etc..)

I would have thought the only return to work bonus people would need would be a salary and a sense of relief that they are working for themselves rather than relying on the state to support them, but what do i know?

I think your sentiment is true. However I 'think' the point of the job grant/in work credit is to help bridge the gap between signing off JSA/ESA and when you get your first pay from your new job.

There's a Return to Work grant which is for people who've been long term unwell and have managed to find a job. There is an earnings limit so if a person has managed to get a job earning £15,000 they don't get it.

    To the OP:
I think what your advisor is referring to is the Job Grant. As long as your advisor is aware you are starting work you should get it automatically.
