Will decking next to fence cause it to rot?

My next door neighbours have started building some decking and have put it right up to the fence that goes between our 2 gardens.
Due to the wet weather the fence next to the decking has got wet and isnt drying as quickly as the rest - this is how I noticed the potential problem as it is noticably wetter looking with a green tinge.

Will the fence rot over time?
Would you mention this to the neighbours or should I just get some preservative onto the fence if it ever dries??

I think that you are looking for a problem where none exists. The fence will get just as wet as the decking.

I don't think it'll cause a problem at all.

The only real problems that I know of with decking is that it can get slippery if the wood isn't treated and/or cleaned properly, and one of my friends had rats setting up home under her decking. Not major problems though - go for it!
